Moodtalk helped transform a strong team into a "superteam," enhancing collaboration and team culture at the Department of Economic Affairs in the Canton of Uri.
By redefining meeting culture, the team achieved better time management and more productive discussions, improving overall outcomes.
Open discussions about well-being, facilitated by Moodtalk, created a supportive and proactive leadership environment within the public sector.
The public sector faces major challenges regarding the shortage of skilled workers, as PwC predicts that around 130,000 employees will be missing in the public sector by 2030. For Stefan, as a modern leader, it is important to establish a future-oriented team culture to provide good service to the citizens of the Canton of Uri. That’s why Stefan turned to Moodtalk in January 2023. “We knew Moodtalk because the company was founded in our canton, and we were curious to try it ourselves,” said Stefan.
Stefan’s team of seven professionals took a clear and focused approach to improving their collaboration. Early Moodtalk sessions revealed that the team was already strong and appreciated their working relationships. However, they also identified opportunities to enhance their collaboration and team culture further. One area for improvement was meeting culture: through Moodtalk, the team established clear meeting rules, significantly boosting the effectiveness of their sessions. This resulted in better-organized and more time-efficient meetings.
Reflecting on this positive shift, Stefan noted, “Our discussions became more structured, leading to better time management and greater outcomes.”
"Moodtalk helps generate ideas about what we might still need to discuss and identify areas requiring action. I recommend it to everyone to try, explore, and test."
Using Moodtalk, Stefan also observed improved team dynamics from a leadership perspective. He appreciated the open discussions about team well-being, stating: “It is very important to have open conversations with the team about their well-being.” This empathetic and supportive approach enabled him to better understand and proactively address the needs of his team.
“I recommend it to every team, as Moodtalk fosters collaboration and open communication,” says Stefan. His experience underscores Moodtalk’s practicality in enhancing team dynamics in a straightforward and impactful manner.
"I find it very valuable to talk with the team about how they are doing, what excites them, and what concerns them. It’s beneficial not only for me as a leader but also for the other team members."
Stefan’s experience with Moodtalk provides a compelling example of how continuous, focused cultural development can foster improved team collaboration and creativity in the public sector. What started as a great team evolved into a superteam, demonstrating the power of tools like Moodtalk in achieving excellence.
